Crossroads Relationships Get More Room to Grow
Your next visit to the Crossroads has more conversations, gifts, and character moments to explore. Hades II post launch patch 2 expands what happens after forging bonds while adjusting combat interactions and making everyday menus easier to use. Whether you’re returning for unfinished prophecies or another run with a favorite weapon, Hades II post launch patch 2 gives you specific changes to revisit.
This historical second post-launch patch combines bonus narrative content with balance adjustments and bug fixes. Its relationship additions extend established connections, while its combat changes touch weapon Aspects, Cast effects, Ares Boons, and several Hex interactions.
Forever Gifting and Continuing Relationships
In Hades II post launch patch 2, after forging a bond with most Crossroads characters, you can keep giving them Bath Salts, Twin Lures, and Ambrosia indefinitely. These gifts bring brief new scenes, giving you more reasons to spend time with characters whose bonds you’ve already forged.
Characters who can have non-Platonic relationships with Melinoë may also occasionally express interest in continuing those relationships. That continuation is occasional; it isn’t a guaranteed event attached to every gift.
| Relationship change | What changes in Patch 2 |
|---|---|
| Forever Gifting | Most bonded Crossroads characters accept Bath Salts, Twin Lures, and Ambrosia indefinitely |
| Continuing relationships | Eligible characters occasionally show interest in further non-Platonic encounters |
| Initial Bath Salts gifts | Crossroads characters accept their initial gift earlier |
| Icarus | His reluctance around forging a bond is reduced |
| Moros and Nemesis | A later relationship scene for each has less restrictive circumstances |
Revisit characters you’ve already bonded with to see the additional gift scenes. Keep the distinction between unlimited gifting and occasional relationship events in mind: the former extends gift exchanges, while the latter remains conditional.
The Crossroads also gains more incidental conversation. Hecate and Odysseus, or Moros and Odysseus, can sometimes chat when urgent matters aren’t demanding their attention. Hecate has additional dialogue about each Hidden Aspect, Dora has more to say in the Training Grounds, and Eris comments on the decorative Warning Sign pointing toward her.

Fated Prophecies Gain Narrated Conclusions
Hades II post launch patch 2 gives several character stories a more developed finish. Specific fulfilled prophecies now have narrated conclusions that you can view through the Fated List. Odysseus and Arachne are among the characters connected to these additions.
Several prophecies also receive updated progress instructions. Changes to event priority and the points at which prophecies are foretold or fulfilled adjust how those stories unfold.
| Prophecy | Patch 2 update |
|---|---|
| Silk and Spitefulness | Higher priority for key events and a new narrated conclusion |
| Voice and Vanity | Higher priority for key events and a new narrated conclusion |
| Haunted by the Past | Higher priority for key events and a new narrated conclusion |
| Unfinished Business | Higher priority for key events and a new narrated conclusion |
| Soundest of Sleepers | New narrated conclusion |
| Denier of Suitors | Reduced fulfillment requirements |
| Original Virtues | Reduced fulfillment requirements |
| Born to Win | Higher priority for the event where Chaos introduces it |
| Melinoë, Help Us | Higher priority for key events and a replayable narrated epilogue |
Check the Fated List for narrated endings after fulfilling the relevant prophecies. For stories still underway, read their updated instructions before deciding what to pursue next.
Denier of Suitors and Original Virtues have reduced requirements, but the changes don’t include numeric thresholds. Follow their in-game instructions rather than planning around an assumed number of encounters or gifts.
The presentation receives attention, too. Character-related prophecies gain artwork, and most of the listed character stories get a new completion banner animation. These additions accompany the narrated endings with clearer visual celebration.
The patch also fixes an issue that could prevent Natural Talent from appearing in the Fated List as expected. If that prophecy was missing, check the list again as you continue playing.
Weapon Aspects, Ares Boons, and Cast Effects Change
The combat side of Hades II post launch patch 2 mixes direct buffs with broader compatibility and reliability changes. Ares receives several revisions, including two reworked Boons, while other gods gain improvements to specific interactions.
Nocturnal Arms and Boon Adjustments
| Aspect or Boon | What changes |
|---|---|
| Aspect of Artemis — Blades | Riposte recharges faster between uses |
| Aspect of Pan — Blades | Also works with Dancing Knives |
| Aspect of Hel — Skull | Omega Attack channels faster and hits cocoons more reliably |
| Tidal Ring — Poseidon | Hits multiple foes more reliably |
| Seismic Servo — Poseidon and Hephaestus | Applies its bonus to additional Boons |
| Snow Queen — Demeter | Attacks that deal no damage no longer negate its barrier |
| Fire Away — Hestia | Works with all Casts |
| Winner’s Circle — Hermes | Works more consistently across Cast effects, speeding their damage and expiration with a rescaled effect |
Try Dancing Knives with the Aspect of Pan to explore its expanded compatibility. With Fire Away, consider Cast choices beyond Hestia’s now that the Boon works across all Casts.
Winner’s Circle changes both the pace of Cast damage and how quickly the effects expire. Its effect is also rescaled, so approach it as an adjusted interaction rather than assuming every part of its previous behavior remains identical.
Ares Has Several Changes Worth Revisiting
Sword Ring deals more damage. Grievous Blow gains larger bonuses from Rarity and Poms of Power. Grisly Gain increases the chance that weapon strikes spill Plasma, while its Rarity and Poms now affect how much Magick collecting that Plasma restores.
The two reworks change how their effects function:
- Profuse Bleeding: Collecting Plasma or inflicting Wounds creates a falling blade above a surrounding foe.
- Sanguinary Savor: Increases Wounds damage while retaining automatic Plasma attraction; its offering requirements also change.
Revisit Plasma and Wounds combinations with those new effects in mind. Profuse Bleeding now connects both actions to falling blades, and Sanguinary Savor adds a damage benefit to its Plasma collection effect.
The changes are qualitative: don’t build calculations around an assumed damage increase, Plasma probability, or Magick restoration amount.
Hex Upgrades and Encounter Adjustments
Tribulation, the Moon Water upgrade, now activates effects triggered after taking damage multiple times in succession. Decline, the Twilight Curse upgrade, is reworked to increase the projectile’s direct damage.
Look over those Path of Stars upgrades again if your setup uses damage-triggered effects or Twilight Curse’s projectile. Their revised behavior changes what you’re choosing.
In the Fields, Sorrow-Spillers appear slightly less often. Charybdis receives a fix for cases where the encounter took longer than expected to initially occur. Its tentacles are also no longer susceptible to Morph, matching their behavior in the Vow of Rivals encounter.
Accessibility and Everyday Tasks Become Easier
Hades II post launch patch 2 adds a Zoom In option to the Accessibility menu. It brings the camera closer to the action and is recommended for smaller displays.
Try Zoom In if you want a closer view on a smaller screen. The setting changes camera framing; the patch doesn’t attach performance targets or device ratings to it.
Several other additions reduce friction during repeated visits, successful clears, and inventory management.
| Feature | Patch 2 behavior |
|---|---|
| Zoom In | New Accessibility setting brings the camera closer |
| Homer’s successful-clear narration | Most narrated outcomes can now be skipped |
| Archived Trivia | Can be sorted by Animal Familiar |
| Seed-planting menu | Shows only Seeds and defaults to the last chosen Seed |
| Pre-Guardian Locations | Display a reward preview icon when entering |
| Gathering Tools | Associated resources are offered more consistently |
| Argent Skull Special | Destroys Erebus trees in one hit |
Use the Animal Familiar sorting option when browsing Archived Trivia for a particular companion. When planting, the narrower menu and remembered Seed selection make repeat choices more straightforward.
The Path of Stars menu also updates its selection artwork so unpicked upgrades are easier to distinguish. Resource descriptions and inventory hints receive adjustments, and translations are updated across all languages.
New Familiar Forms and Crossroads Decorations
Each Animal Familiar receives a new alternate form. The Crossroads Training Grounds also gains new decorative items, alongside additional dialogue about the unlockable Abandoned Statue.
Melinoë now acknowledges Toula when Toula defeats a Guardian. That addition sits alongside new ambient animations for Hecate and Moros, plus greeting and salute animations for Selene.
Visual effects change for Icarus’s bombing runs, Mental Block, Colossus Slash, Dashing Heave, the Aspect of Circe, and King Vermin. Audio updates include the Moonstone Axe hitting the ground after its full attack sequence and setting the Express Route in Tartarus.
Bug Fixes Address Combat and Story Interruptions
Hades II post launch patch 2 also tackles interactions that could interrupt a run or leave an effect behaving unexpectedly. These fixes cover weapons, Hexes, Keepsakes, encounters, and narrative events.
| Affected interaction | What the fix addresses |
|---|---|
| Aspect of Nergal Dash-Strike | Could miss after changing direction |
| Vampiric Cataclysm and Old Herbal Remedy | The latter failed to improve the former |
| Phase Shift and Chaos Gates | The effect could persist unexpectedly |
| Lunar Ray and Athena’s arrival | The Hex could end unexpectedly |
| Wolf Howl | Additional cases of ending up outside level boundaries |
| Engraved Pin | Its effect could unexpectedly reset within a Location |
| Ghost Onion with Vow of Scars | Healing could fall short of the possible full amount |
| Family Dispute encounters | Magick could fail to regenerate as expected |
Other fixes address Moon Water interfering with the Aspect of Persephone’s Omega Special controls, Arctic Ring interacting with Hostile Environment, and Rapid Onslaught interacting with the Aspect of the Morrigan.
Lone Shades receive a fix for failing to hit Polyphemus when expected. Gale now blocks a Hellifish’s ink effect along with its damage. Personal Loan also receives a correction for cases where borrowed Gold wasn’t repaid when expected.
Story and Crossroads fixes include availability problems affecting Beast-Loved Morsel and the Crossroads Renewal Project. The Hot Springs contextual interaction becomes available promptly, and subtitles no longer get stuck during certain singing scenes with Melinoë and Artemis.
For returning players, revisit the specific interaction that previously caused trouble. The patch addresses those individual behaviors, giving you concrete reasons to try affected weapons, Keepsakes, or character scenes again.
